DONT SLEEP Pillar 04.

COMMUNITY SUSTAINABILITY
Promoting a community that is economically, environmentally, and socially healthy and resilient. One, which meets challenges through integrated solutions rather than through fragmented approaches that meet one goal at the expense of the others.

The Black Business Bazaar; like the Black Owned Business Block Party, helps us fulfill this part of our mission by supporting the Fay Biccard Glick Community Center through Vendor donations, and offering a free Black owned marketplace for the community to patronize. Encouraging entrepreneurship and economic empowerment and health and wellness through not just material vendors, but Black health care providers as well.

 Fay Biccard Glick Community Center

Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center formerlly known as Crooked Creek Multi Service Center was established in 1984 as is one of 11 community centers within Marion County. A small staff provides wrap around services such as education classes, emergency assistance, quality childcare, and food and clothing pantry. FBGNC continues to service the Pike and Washington Township area as its needs grow and the community becomes highly diverse and growing community.

FBGNC mission statement is to promote civic, social, and personal responsibility in the Crooked Creek service area by providing quality services that enhance the lives of individuals and families.

School Safety Forum

Sgt. Steven Hadley from IMPD's Domestic Preparedness Unit will be walking through an active shooter drill. As J.D. has been out knocking on doors in our Community, some parents have shared with him that they are concerned about their children participating in this drill and they'd like to learn more.

In addition, this will be an opportunity for parents, students, school administrators and the community to share their thoughts on this issue with J.D. as understands that he needs to listen to the community.

Please make plans to attend and please continue to check this event as it will be updated with more information!
